As a New Business Development Manager your goal is to plan, develop and identify new business opportunities to build or expand profitable sales of applicable products in our Turf & Consumer business unit, working with our Ferris brand. You'll also define, plan and execute short and long term strategic goals, build key customer relationships, negotiate and close business deals, while maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

You will do this by:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining a business plan to prospect new clients in conjunction with sales and marketing
  • Creating and presenting sales and marketing programs that cultivate opportunities and secures orders
  • Collecting, analyzing and comparing pertinent data from target markets and makes proposals/recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Interfacing with leaders and support personnel in sales and marketing to implement company sales programs
  • Developing and achieving a growth strategy focused on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Controlling selling costs through effective management and expense control

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management or related field OR equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum five years of sales and/or customer service experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in outdoor power equipment industry
  • Experience in retail sales

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven ability to develop new business plans
  • Ability to analyze sales trends to identify alternatives that will maximize sales opportunities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups of people
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize multiple projects and business demands

Travel Required:

  • % of Travel: 50-75
  • How often: 2-3 days per week
  • Where: regionally
  • May require travel of a scheduled or urgent nature to review applications, discuss problems, visit dealers/customers, trade shows, etc
  • Company truck provided
